Buttonholed

A few additions to ongoing projects. The bug bag is the boundweave fashioned into a knitting bag. The pink is an additional towel in dukagang for the apron and the brown is a towel in brooks bouquet. The buttonhole is a bound buttonhole.
I have been trying a variety of techniques for buttonholes. Initially, I tried to weave in the buttonholes without much success. (If you look at my tumbler blog entry you will see some bad buttonholes) I was talking to Chris Hammel (my teacher at Hill) about the difficulty of getting an even beat, straight selvedges, etc. when changing from a single shuttle to multiple shuttles. She gave me a wonderfully elegant solution: Hand-baste the buttonhole closed as you weave! This will keep the tension the same from the one shuttle area to the multiple-shuttle areas. My new motto is just ask Chris!
