Crisis of Faith

I got the cushion covers off the loom and washed them today. I am not happy! I really got the weave-structure/fiber wrong on this one. The structure is an invented undulating-ish, point-ish twill which was wavy and interesting on the computer. HOWEVER, combining it with the kettle-dyed, hand-spun mohair weft was too much. The structure was lost in the thick and thin and color variation of the weft. I failed to bring the best out of in yarn or the structure. Sad!

That said I love the texture of “linsey woolsey”. I love the term and have to find out if linen and mohair can also be called linsey woolsey. It is drape-y and soft and silky – hard to believe, but it is. It is also called “wincey.” Appropriate huh?
