Re- do

This shawl, which I just mailed off to my mother as a gift for her mother’s best friend (did you get that?) was one of the first things I wove for my Master Weaver Certificate. It has been at the bottom of the (big and getting bigger) “didn’t make the cut” box since June 2010. The center photo is why it didn’t make the cut. See that strange grape band at the bottom edge. That was a really bad color choice that made me reject the shawl and leave the fringes unfinished, etc. Recently I was pulling out all my non-masters woven projects when I saw this again and realized that I could unweave the yucky grape and resuscitate it. So I unwove, beaded and twisted and – voila – notice how long the twisted fringes are? Okay, okay one oversight at a time . . .
