Polly on the Loom

After a little cake baking this morning I was able to get the Polly Scarf started before the birthday party and then for a special treat big son had to do some work for an art class so he joined me in the studio for the afternoon. He spent the time cutting out hundreds of perfect ovals of color from magazines for a collage (boy after my own heart) while I continued on the Polly Scarf (see above). The deflected double weave is very geometric on the loom but when the tension is released the curves and texture appear. I am using 50/50 silk merino Zephyr for this scarf. I am really interested to see how it softens once washed. I am hoping for a ribbed effect – we shall see.
