Hands on the Steering Wheel
[gallery link="file"] I have finally been able to grab the steering wheel of my life in the last week. Darling daughter has been moved (we strategically chose the two 100-degree days in August to move her out of her Hoboken walk-up).
Differential Shrinkage (differential expectations)
[gallery link="file"] I shawl intended for a Masters project requirement. I used two wool yarns from Jaggerspun. The darker one is 8/2 Heather and the other is a 24/2 super-wash merino. I was hoping for some cool differential shrinkage - which
Creativity and Baby Feet
[gallery link="file" columns="2"] We recently had a visit from some old friends. The visit was great - good food, conversation, walks, dog & kid antics, etc. However, some of the conversation gave me pause, and I am trying desperately NOT to
Wedgwood
[gallery link="file"] The above is a new Master Weavers’ project - the overshot - as drawn in requirement. A baby blanket inspired by Wedgwood ceramics. It is a 10/2 cotton warp and tabby weft with a merino wool pattern weft. I

I just want to thank everyone for all the great input on the controversial button issue. It looks like the round filigree buttons win hands down. Luckily - they were on clearance! Tomorrow I am going to post three photos
Button Quest
I went on a button quest and this is what I found. I need some input before I make the final decision. What I found strange in this process was that I had no ideas. I usually seek materials with
Almost There
[gallery link="file" columns="2"] Well, I cut and cut and cut and sewed and sewed and sewed. I am somewhat happy with the results, and I still have a lot of handwork to do . . . oh no! buttonholes - again!
Now for the Really Scary Part
[gallery link="file"] Well, this is what happened. . . I wanted 6 yards of fabric for my coat. Okay, I wound a warp six yards long . . . duh, after planning every one of those 800 something threads you would
