Live and Let Dye

I realize that the above is not a lovely photo array, but it is meant to visually describe the process of “knitting to dye for”.

A. The knit blank (washed in synthrapol/soaked in vinegar water) is pinned flat on some foam core covered in plastic wrap – note the lines of larger stitches as markers for color changes.
B. Dye is applied using a paint brush
C. Plastic wrap is folded over and made into a steamable bundle
D. Bundle is steamed from 30-45 minutes
E. Blanks are rinsed, washed and dried before unknitting for weaving.
F. The weaver looks and sees that she needs more experience predicting colors in dyeing:)
