Snow Day!
We had a snow day today! My class was cancelled. Cal’s school was closed, but poor Hardy called at 7:30 am to tell us about his tragic fate – he must slog through snow drifts to class – poor fellow.
I have been making use of the day to get the warp for the alpaca boucle blankets wound. 6 pounds of alpaca in the warp! I am listening to Elisabeth Gaskell’s “North and South” which is set in the north of England in a textile producing town during the industrial revolution. Very appropriate – I think of myself as a mill girl (is there such a thing as a mill crone?)
