Open Studio

What a great day! Thanks to all who came out to the hinterlands to visit my studio. I met neighbors who I had never met and re-met those who I hadn’t seen in a while. Weaving is a solitary endeavor ,and it is really encouraging to have people from near and far visit, look, touch and enjoy what I do.

My student Julia – incredible young weaver- came and wove away in the cold barn until she finished her project. A 70” scarf with overshot borders and a long stretch of perfect plain weave. Inspiring dedication.

As far as “the projects” go – I have unwoven about 4 inches of my deflected double weave scarf, correcting for a sticking shaft. I am stymied on the sock blanket because I have run out of my hand-dyed, dark turquoise weft. SO, sadly before I get either project off the looms to make room for the next items in line, I must buy, dye and re-tie, Sigh!
