Sampling for a Boro/Gee’s Bend-inspired bedsprea Sampling for a Boro/Gee’s Bend-inspired bedspread. Double weave/pieced. I was faced with the need to weave a wide piece in cotton or Cottolin that was heavy enough for a bedspread. I thought of double wide double weave, but couldn’t find the right weight of cotton in the colors I wanted. I thought about double weave to achieve the hand but was worried that weaving double weave double wide would be too dense for me to get a reliable shed on my jacket loom. My son came up with the idea for a Boro inspired textile. I have to work out a few seaming kinks, but I think he’s onto something.
